🛠️ How to Use the Fast Estimate Tool

The Fast Estimate Tool helps you quickly generate and share roofing estimates with homeowners. Follow this step-by-step guide to create a fast estimate and turn it into a proposal or signed agreement.

This is not intended to be 100% accurate. To generate accurate full build out quotes please use our DIY design measurement tool seen here.


Step 1: Access the Tool

  1. Navigate to the Canvassing section.

  2. Click on Maps.

  3. Select a home by clicking on a property you’re working with.

  4. Confirm the homeowner details (especially if you've already made contact).


Step 2: Open the Fast Estimate Tool

  1. Click on the Tools tab.

  2. Select Fast Estimate.

The system will automatically load visible roof structures around the selected property.


Step 3: Add Additional Roofs (If Needed)

  1. If a structure (like a detached garage) doesn’t appear:

    • Click Next.

    • Select Add Additional Roof.

  2. Draw the roof by clicking four points to outline it.

  3. To fine-tune the roof shape:

    • Click on it.

    • Drag the dots to adjust the layout as needed.


Step 4: Finalize Roof Details

  1. Click Next after all roof structures are selected and drawn.

  2. Enter the following:

    • Pitch

    • Waste

    • Price per Square Foot (e.g., $5.50)

  3. The system will automatically calculate total square footage and cost.


Step 5: Generate a Proposal

  1. Click Create Proposal.

  2. Choose from your available Templates (e.g., Contingency Agreement).

    • The template will automatically include:

      • Square footage

      • Price per square foot

      • Total estimated cost

      • Legal clauses and signature section


Step 6: Edit Proposal (Optional)

  • Adjust the quote as needed:

    • Modify price or measurements

    • Add margin

  • You can also insert extra pages or additional quotes.


Step 7: Share & Sign

  1. Share the proposal with the homeowner:

    • In person

    • Via email (includes tracking)

  2. Homeowner can:

    • View the estimate

    • Sign electronically

    • Add notes

    • Request an emailed copy

  3. You can manually mark it as signed to aid internal tracking.
